Firefox OS on Smartphones and New Leaks
In early December, Mozilla announced that it was discontinuing Firefox OS development for smartphones, mainly due to its inability to offer the best user experience with it. The announcement added, Firefox was continuing experiments with the operating system in the Internet Of Things, the new emerging market. However, recently-leaked documents reveal numerous devices that Firefox might be working on.
The leaked documents reveal the future planning of Firefox OS. The leaked products are expected to be running on it’s own Mobile OS. Mozilla intends to launch a tablet, media streaming dongle, a standalone keyboard, and a router.
Firefox Pi is a keyboard computer that is aimed at education purpose and startups. The OS is based on Rasberry Pi. The keyboard is able to be plugged into an analogue TV or a monitor. The company believes that this device will help it with the maker-movement.
Firefox Stick is pretty similar to the Intel Compute Stick. It aims to turn your analogue TV into a Smart device. Using the HDMI Port, the dongle runs Firefox TV OS and lets the user view content from the Internet. Mozilla is alsoo working on partnering with content providers for Digital Rights Management and content partnerships.

Firefox Hub, which is similar to Google’s OnHub, will be powered with Firefox’s own firewall. The device will act as a Web server, which gives the ability letting a user host their own Web apps and data. Additionally, the device will offer the ability to prevent exploit which spread to other devices over the Web.
The company is working on a 10-inch tablet called as Firefox Pad. The Firefox Pad, which is aimed at the newbies and elderly, consists of just one Web browser, Yes! just Web Browser. It has automatic updates and web apps. There’s no app store powered in the tablet, users can only experience Web apps.
